Remarks 'burr', i.e., a rough or prickly envelope of a fruit, from Middle English 'burre' akin to Old English 'byrst', i.e., bristle (p. 189, Ref. 11978); 'fish' from Germanic 'fiskaz' from same source as Latin 'piscis' from Indo-European word 'piskos' (p. 229 in Ref. 11979). Name applied to Chilomycterus atinga.
