Remarks Inhabits rocky runs and flowing pools of small to medium rivers. Common in upland areas and clear streams with fast current (Ref. 5723, 10294). Feeds primarily on insects (Ref. 50685), dominated by caddis larvae and mayfly nymphs. Juvenile consumes algae and diatom (Ref. 10294).
