Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater; pH range: 5.80000019073486 - 6.80000019073486; dH range: 0 - 4
Distribution:  South America: Tahuayo River basin of the Amazon River basin, Peru.
Diagnosis:  Is distinguished from other look-alike species by the blackish blotch on the soft portion of the dorsal fin and by the rounded tail and three zigzag lines found on the bellies of mature males (Ref. 12251).
Biology:  Eggs are deposited on the ceiling of caves and are tendered by the female parent (Ref. 47893).
