Family:  Cichlidae (Cichlids), subfamily: Geophaginae
Max. size:  4 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  South America: Amazon River basin, in the Payamino River basin in Napo River drainage, Ecuador.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Inhabits backwaters and shore with undisturbed rainforest (Ref. 9088). Eggs are deposited on the ceiling of caves and are tendered by the female parent (Ref. 47893).
