Diagnosis: |
Body flat and strongly compressed; eyes on left side of head; lateral line on the eyed side, with a pronounced arch over the pectoral fin but not extending under the lower eye; urinary papilla present on the eyed side; anterior profile of head markedly notched; eyed side light to dark brown, with small, diffuse, lighter blotches (Ref. 55763). |
Biology: |
Found on hard bottoms (rocks, shell rubble, boulder and gravel strewn slopes). Glides over the bottom with wave-like motion when moving (Ref. 5227). Not commonly caught (Ref. 9281). |
