Diagnosis: |
Diagnosed from its congeners in Western Balkans and Adriatic basin by having the following characters: scales on lateral line 50-59; mouth arched and lower lip with thin cornified sheath; ½ 7-8/1/5 scales in transverse row between dorsal-fin and pelvic-fin origins; dorsal fin with 8-9½ branched rays; and 19-24 gill rakers (Ref. 59043). |
Biology: |
Inhabits streams with clear water and lakes (Ref. 59043). Occurs in water bodies on low plains, with little current. Threatened by habitat destruction (Ref. 26100). |
