Diagnosis: |
This species is distinguished from its congeners by the following set of characters: with a single triangular with roundish outer border Canestrini scale on the pectoral fins of males; branched rays usually 6 1/2 for anal fin, 7 1/2 dorsal fin, 15 caudal fin and 10 pectoral fin; a small dark oblique spot located in the upper half of the caudal fin base, pigmentation in deeper layer not pronounced and irregular in shape; whole body is covered with small, yet clearly visible, scales (Ref. 123403). |
