Dorsal spines (total): 7-7; Dorsal soft rays (total): 9-11; Anal spines: 1-1; Anal soft rays: 8-9. Body with 3 or 4 rows of white spots on body; all fins transparent with dark spots or bars forming oblique lines. A large ocellus rimmed with white line between the posterior margin of preopercle and opercle. Scales in longitudinal row 70; in transverse series 22; predorsal 3. Caudal fin rounded (Ref. 43568); further characterized by dark brown to blackish body color; white snout and jaw tips; lower side with white speckling; united pelvic fins, presence of frenum; longitudinal scale series 69-78; head without scales; greatest depth of body 4.7-5.2 in SL (Ref. 90102). |
Found in silty sandy substrate with small boulders or large rubble pieces in 3-10 meters (Ref. 48637). |
