Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  Asia: Lake Buir, Onon and Kherlen drainages in Mongolia; Amur to Red River drainages, Taiwan and Hainan.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Inhabits rivers (Ref. 1441, 26334), floodplain lakes which are overgrown with aquatic macrophytes (Ref. 41072).
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 31 March 2020 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
