Diagnosis: mouth inferior; two pairs of short barbels; anterior pair 1.33x eye diameter, posterior pair 1.85x eye diameter; lateral line complete; 25-29 scales in lateral line; 4.5 scales between lateral line and dorsal fin; 4.5 scales between lateral line and mid-ventral line; 12 scales around caudal peduncle; last simple ray of dorsal fin flexible and not serrated; no striping or spotting on sides; black spot at base of dorsal fin (Ref. 81639).
Description: small species; pit-lines on head not very clearly marked; 2.5 scales between lateral line and pelvic fin insertion; D:III,8; A:III,5; P:15-16; V:10; dorsal fin with slighlty concave border, last simple ray flexible, not serrated, little longer than head (Ref. 81639).
Coloration: body ground color greenish silvery dorsally, silvery pale yellow ventrally; opercle golden brown; nearly rectangular black spot on anterior part of dorsal fin base; preserved specimens with silver line on flanks; scales borders, scattered with melanophores, forming reticulated pattern (Ref. 81639). |
