Family:  Proscylliidae (Finback catsharks)
Max. size:  200 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  bathydemersal; marine; depth range 400 - 650 m
Distribution:  Western Central Atlantic: apparently confined to a limited area in the Florida Straits and off the north coast of Cuba.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Found on the upper continental and insular slopes. Probably feeds on small fishes, crustaceans and cephalopods. Ovoviviparous, with two young in a litter. Size at birth over 10 cm.
