Family:  Percidae (Perches), subfamily: Etheostomatinae
Max. size:  5.3 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  North America: found only in Choctawhatchee Bay drainage in Florida panhandle in the USA.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Inhabit vegetated sand runs of clear creeks (Ref. 5723). Eggs are found attached to the substrate unguarded (Ref. 7043).
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 22 December 2011 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
