Family:  Gaidropsaridae (Rocklings)
Max. size:  20 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; marine; depth range 0 - 50 m
Distribution:  Southwest Indian Ocean and Southeast Atlantic: known only from Cape Town to East London in South Africa.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 0-0; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 37-43. 2nd dorsal fin with 43-52 soft rays.
Biology:  Occurs in tide pools and to depths of about 50 m.
