Family:  Gobiesocidae (Clingfishes and singleslits), subfamily: Gobiesocinae
Max. size:  15 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  Central and South America: coastal Caribbean drainage rivers. Also known from Colombia and Venezuela.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 8-9; Anal soft rays: 7-7
Biology:  Inhabits rivers and creeks between 25 and 580 m elevation, in currents of high velocity and feeds on fish, fish scales and aquatic insects (Ref. 36880). Occurs solitarily in streams (Ref. 11225).
