Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater; brackish
Distribution:  Asia.
Diagnosis:  Body color dark grayish on back and silvery white below. Belly narrow and with scutes from base of pelvic to anus; head long and pointed; mouth large; lips thin; eyes large, interorbital space convex; gill apertures large. Last unbranched ray of dorsal fin with fine serration; pectoral fin long and pelvic fin short (Ref. 45536).
