Inhabits the shallow littoral zone where the bottom is sandy and near fairly dense strands of rooted aquatic plants (Ref. 4983). The stomach and intestinal contents of the specimens contained fragments of phanerogam leaf tissue which filled the entire alimentary canal. Large numbers of epiphytic diatoms and colonial blue-green algae were also found (Ref. 558). |
