Family:  Dasyatidae (Stingrays), subfamily: Urogymninae
Max. size:  110.5 cm WD (female); max.weight: 55 kg
Environment:  demersal; marine; depth range - 70 m
Distribution:  Indo-Pacific: Africa to New Guinea, north to Thailand and south to Australia.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Occurs mainly inshore and coastal, but on the continental shelf to depths of at least 70 m. Birth size is about 20 cm WD; maximum female size 110.5 WD (Ref. 76961).
