Family:  Chimaeridae (Shortnose chimaeras or ratfishes)
Max. size:  60.8 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  bathydemersal; marine; depth range 716 - 1054 m
Distribution:  Western Pacific: Philippines and Taiwan, north to Japan.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Oviparous (Ref. 205). Eggs are encased in horny shells (Ref. 205).

Threat to humans:  harmless
