Distribution:  South America: upper Orinoco River basin in Colombia.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 11-11; Anal soft rays: 20-21; Vertebrae: 32-32. Distinguished from all its congeners from the Orinoco basin by the following combination of characters: no bony hooks on fins of males; snout length 9.9-15.2% of HL; 4-6 teeth in the maxilla; and 17 teeth in the dentary (Ref. 85795).
