Family:  Cottidae (Sculpins)
Max. size:  14 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; marine; depth range 33 - 373 m
Distribution:  Eastern Pacific: Tasu Island, Queen Charlotte Islands, British Columbia, Canada to San Benito Island, central Baja California, Mexico. Probably extending northward to Alaska.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 9-11; Dorsal soft rays (total): 16-19; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 13-17; Vertebrae: 37. Caudal fin bluntly rounded. Pelvic fins small.
Biology:  Inhabits sand bottom. Feeds on shrimps (Ref. 4925).
