Max. size:  7.1 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  South America: upper Uruguay and Jacui River basins in Brazil.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 10-12; Anal soft rays: 9-10. Three distinct, discontinuous, lateral stripes; short and robust gill rakers on ventral limb of first gill arch; a slightly oblique mouth; and lack of the first mandibular-canal pore (pore W).
Biology:  Recorded from headwaters of rivers. Viviparous (Ref. 45800).
