Diagnosis: |
Dorsal spines (total): 10-10; Dorsal soft rays (total): 11-12; Anal spines: 3-3; Anal soft rays: 11-13. Preorbital serrae 22-31; body depth 2.7-3.1 in SL; maxilla reaching to or beyond a vertical at front edge of pupil, but not beyond center of eye; caudal concavity 3.0-3.8 in head length. Silvery, with small, round, black spots dorsally on body; posterior edge and lobe tips of caudal fin broadly black, the upper and lower edges of lobes narrowly pale; pale central part of caudal fin with blackish streaks and elongate spots that parallel the rays (Ref. 41640). |
