Environment:  demersal; marine
Distribution:  Northwestern Indian Ocean.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 0-0; Dorsal soft rays (total): 14-14; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 11-12. Dorsal fin joined to the caudal but the anal fin free; anus closer to origin of anal fin than to rear margin of disc; six shallow, pointed gill rakers on second gill arch; upper attachment of gill membrane opposite 6th (6-7) pectoral ray; caudal rays 12 (Ref. 42101). Bright orange, snout and cheeks dark red (Ref. 42101).
