Max. size:  24.5 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  South America: Oyapock River drainage in French Guiana and Brazil.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Rheophilic species living in the zones of rapids where it finds shelter against back currents. The water is shallow with bright illumination. In the same biotope, Lasiancistrus longispinis, L. brevispinis, Ctenoloricaria fowleri, Bryconops cyrtogaster and Astyanax leopoldi (Ref. 35237).
