Dorsal spines (total): 10-10; Dorsal soft rays (total): 16-16; Anal spines: 2-2; Anal soft rays: 9-9. Color when fresh: back with a narrow blackish stripe and a second following lateral line to middle of body then continuing to dorsal edge of caudal peduncle, the two separated by a narrow orange zone. Upper side of body dusky red, shading through lavender-pink to silvery white ventrally on head, thorax, and abdomen. Caudal fin red basally, the color continuing as a band in upper and lower part fo fin (Ref 8524). |
Occurs over coral rubble (Ref. 8524). Minimum depth from Ref. 58018. |
