Max. size:  5.7 cm TL (male/unsexed); max. reported age: 1 years
Environment:  demersal; marine; depth range 0 - 97 m
Distribution:  Eastern Pacific: Carmel Bay in central California, USA to ClariĆ³n Island, Mexico.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Found in rocky areas, often in caves and crevices. Occurs from intertidal to 97 m depth. Often collected for home aquarium. Oviparous (Ref. 56079). Males guard the eggs which are found attached to roof of shelter (Ref. 56079).
