Family:  Moringuidae (Worm or spaghetti eels)
Max. size:  140 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  reef-associated; marine; depth range 0 - 40 m
Distribution:  Indo-Pacific: East Africa to Easter Island, north to the Ryukyus, south to Australia. Throughout Micronesia (Ref. 1602).
Diagnosis:  Vertebrae: 115-125. Description: Characterized by its yellow to dusky orange color, grading to white ventrally; pectoral fins reduced to vistigial flaps; body depth 49-63 in TL; HL 13-15 in TL; around 73 lateral-line pores anterior to anus (Ref. 90102).
Biology:  Benthic (Ref. 58302). Burrowing species (Ref. 7300). Inhabits sandy areas. Minimum depth reported taken from Ref. 86942.
