Dorsal spines (total): 0-0; Dorsal soft rays (total): 161; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 107. Dorsal filament 3 times longer than eye diameter; pectoral fins rather short, not reaching to anus when appressed. Lateral line extending to below middle of second dorsal fin. Color is gray-reddish; body with small black dots; abdomen black (Ref. 1371). |

Dwells on the continental and insular shelves and slopes. Feeds on zooplankton. |
