Dorsal spines (total): 12-14; Dorsal soft rays (total): 9-11; Anal spines: 3-3; Anal soft rays: 5-6; Vertebrae: 24-25. Distinguished from all other species of Nandus by its deep dorsal head profile and sharp snout, the presence of 37-42 lateral line scales interrupted at the 24th-27th lateral line scale and the presence of relatively large serrae on the preopercle. |
