Diagnosis: |
Dorsal spines (total): 1-1; Dorsal soft rays (total): 7-7; Vertebrae: 35-36. Semicircular spot on the middle of caudal-fin base, about equal to eye diameter; dark spot extending across bases of second through fifth branched dorsal-fin rays. Anal fin with 4-5 simple rays, 8-9 branched rays, total 12-14 rays. Eye relatively large, its diameter about equal to snout length. Nasal barbel extends just past posterior margin of orbit; maxillary barbel with broad membrane, barbel reaches anal-fin origin (Ref. 40780). |
