Max. size:  20.3 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  bathydemersal; marine; depth range 100 - 1830 m
Distribution:  Western Indian Ocean: Mozambique to off Cape Town, South Africa. Atlantic Ocean.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 0-0; Dorsal soft rays (total): 103-106; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 83-86. Head and body brownish; dorsal fin pale; caudal dusky (Ref. 4103).
Biology:  Common species (Ref. 34024). Oviparous, with oval pelagic eggs floating in a gelatinous mass (Ref. 205).
