Distribution:  Africa: endemic to the Luiche River basin in Tanzania (Ref. 28906).
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 17-19; Dorsal soft rays (total): 9-10; Anal spines: 3-3; Anal soft rays: 8-10; Vertebrae: 30-32
Biology:  Inhabits small and moderate swift running waters; feeds on plant matter; mouthbrooding species (Ref. 28096).
