Max. size:  7.2 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  Africa: endemic to the Malagarasi River, only known the Mazimero and Nanganga rivers in Burundi (Ref. 28906).
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 16-17; Dorsal soft rays (total): 8-10; Anal spines: 3-3; Anal soft rays: 9-10; Vertebrae: 27-29
Biology:  Inhabits clear water rivulets with sandy and stony bottoms; sand, plant debris and algae belonging to Bacillariophyceae, Chlorophyceae and Cyanophyceae found in stomch and gut; mouthbrooder (Ref. 28906).
