Family:  Cichlidae (Cichlids), subfamily: Pseudocrenilabrinae
Max. size:  5.03 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater; depth range 1 - 1 m
Distribution:  Africa: endemic to the Malagarasi River basin, only known only from the Majamazi River [=Milowesi River], a western affluent of the Ugalla River in Tanzania (Ref. 28906).
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 18-19; Dorsal soft rays (total): 8-9; Anal spines: 3-3; Anal soft rays: 9-10; Vertebrae: 30-31
Biology:  Inhabits relatively clear, swift and shallow water with rocky bottom; found near the ground trying to hide between the stones and boulders; probably mouthbrooding (Ref. 28906).
