Dorsal soft rays (total): 92-97; Anal soft rays: 76-80; Vertebrae: 98-102. Head and body uniformly dark greyish brown. Lateral line configuration double with ventral and mediolateral branches, the latter originating above middle of pectoral fin. Abdomen and predorsal area without scales. Pectoral fin length 12-15.5% SL. Mouth subterminal (Ref. 47926). |

Fecundity very low. Ovary of a ripe female (25 cm SL) contains 10 eggs (6.5 mm in diameter) (Ref. 47926). Maximum depth from holotype record (Ref. 51665). Minimum depth from Ref. 58018. |
