Distribution:  Asia: Little Zab River in Iran and upper Sirwan (Kurdish) drainage [Sirvan (Persian) or Diyala (Arabic)] in Iran and Iraq.
Diagnosis:  This species can be diagnosed from other congeners in the Middle East by its truncate caudal fin (vs. emarginate or slightly forked) (Ref. 97574). Description: 7 1/2 branched dorsal rays; 5 1/2 branched anal rays; 8-9 branched pectoral rays; 5-7 branched pelvic rays (Ref. 97574).
