Dorsal spines (total): 9-9; Dorsal soft rays (total): 11-14; Anal spines: 3-3; Anal soft rays: 10-12; Vertebrae: 24-24. Six to seven pectoral filaments below pectoral fin, the fifth filament from the ventralmost, longest, may extend beyond caudal fin. Body and head yellow, shaded with black dorsally; fins bright orange, pectoral filaments intense vermilion (Ref. 9685). |
Adults inhabit muddy estuaries and lower part of rivers (Ref. 9685). One of the smallest members of the family Polynemidae (Ref. 57343). |
