Dorsal spines (total): 10-10; Dorsal soft rays (total): 9-9. Description: Dorsal brownish grey with stripe yellow pale narrow (may be absent or faded), ventral pale blue or white, midlateral stripe yellow pale broad from eye to caudal peduncle, snout yellow band between a pair of blue bands. Juvenile blue with horizontal stripes 2 bight yellow. Head scales reaches forward to level between eye and nostrils. Snout about equal to diameter of eye. Preopercle lower limb scale rows 2-3.
