Family:  Percidae (Perches), subfamily: Etheostomatinae
Max. size:  9 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  North America: found only in Coosa and Tallapoosa River systems (in Mobile Bay drainage) in Georgia, Alabama and extreme southeastern Tennessee, USA.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Inhabits swift riffles over gravel and rubble in small to medium rivers (Ref. 5723, 10294). Feeds on blackfly larvae and pupae, and hydropsychid (Cheumatopsyche) caddis larvae (Ref. 10294).
