Environment:  demersal; marine; depth range 0 - 25 m
Distribution:  Western Indian Ocean: Cargados Carajos, Chagos Archipelago and Seychelles.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 6-7; Dorsal soft rays (total): 6-9; Anal spines: 1-1; Anal soft rays: 7-9. Slender member of Pleurosicya with a dense black spot on nape center; nape naked; gill opening restricted to pectoral base; tongue rounded, with pointed center (Ref. 43682). Caudal fin rounded.
