Max. size:  22.5 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; brackish
Distribution:  Black Sea: southeast Crimea to Batum. Restricted to brackish water habitats (Ref. 92840).
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 7-7; Dorsal soft rays (total): 15-20; Anal spines: 1-1; Anal soft rays: 11-14
Biology:  Restricted to brackish water habitats, endemic to Black and Caspian Seas. (Ref. 92840). Occurs inshore, among boulders, rocks, stones and Cystoseira (Ref. 4696) but is also known to live over gravelly bottoms offshore, away from inlets (Ref. 2058).
