Dorsal spines (total): 7-7; Dorsal soft rays (total): 9-9; Anal spines: 2-2; Anal soft rays: 8-8. Easily confused with A. trimaculatus but lacks opercle spot (Ref. 48635).
Description: Characterized by pale grey body color; narrow brown bar extending to middle of side below first dorsal fin, similar bar under posterior most part of second dorsal fin; middle of caudal fin base with small dark brown spot; anterior edge of first dorsal fin dark brown; pale band below eye, brown-edged; greatest depth of body 2.7-3.1 in SL (Ref. 90102). |
Inhabits shallow protected reefs of lagoons or harbors (Ref. 40889). Nocturnal and usually seen solitary (Ref. 48635). |
