Distribution: |

Diagnosis: |
Dorsal spines (total): 2-3; Dorsal soft rays (total): 7-7; Anal spines: 2-3; Anal soft rays: 6-6. Usually silvery grey with a dark band running along the middle of the trunk. |
Biology: |
Occurs in large dense populations, among stones and vegetation, in small ponds and streams. Feeds on plants and small animals. Spawns between April and June. |
