Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater; brackish; pH range: 6.5 - 7.80000019073486; dH range: 15
Distribution:  Asia: India, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Malay Peninsula and Indonesia. Reported from Bangladesh (Ref. 1479).
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Often found in ditches, paddy fields and shallow water not far from tidal influence (Ref. 1479). Prefer stagnant or slow-flowing water with thick vegetation such as grasses, roots and floating plants. Feed on insects and zooplankton. A bubble nest builder.
