Max. size:  10 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; freshwater
Distribution:  Africa: Pool Malebo (=Stanley Pool) and the lower Congo River (Ref. 52307), downstream up to Matadi (Ref. 94498), in Republic of Congo and Democratic Republic of the Congo (Ref. 52307).
Diagnosis:  Description: males may posses a well-developed hump on head (Ref. 52307). Coloration: scales light with dark margins (Ref. 52307).
Biology:  Rheophilic; feeds primarily on mollusks (snails); pair-bonding, cave spawning species (Ref. 52307).
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 16 February 2009 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
