Family:  Gobiidae (Gobies), subfamily: Gobiinae
Max. size:  2.5 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  reef-associated; marine; depth range 0 - 10 m
Distribution:  Western Atlantic: Bahamas and Cayman Islands, through the Lesser Antilles to the islands off Venezuela; also in the western Caribbean, from Old Providence Island and the islands off Belize (Ref. 5521). Recorded from the Gulf of Honduras (Ref. 46821).
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 7-7; Dorsal soft rays (total): 12-13; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 10-11
Biology:  Found on clear, shallow bottoms with coral formations, principally in oceanic, insular areas (Ref. 13628). Occupies burrows created by the chiton (Choneplax lata) burrows in red coralline algae at shallow depths, usually less than 1 meter (Ref. 92840).
