Family:  Gobiidae (Gobies), subfamily: Gobiinae
Max. size:  3 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; marine; depth range 1 - 45 m
Distribution:  Indo-Pacific: Maldives and Christmas Island; Indonesia, Philippines, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, New Hebrides, and, apparently, Society Islands.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 6-7; Dorsal soft rays (total): 8-10; Anal spines: 1-1; Anal soft rays: 8-8. Distinguished by the following characters: reddish orange to yellow orange with small pale edged red spots widely scattered on head and body; longitudinal scale series 23-25; predorsal scales 6-10; absence of scales on cheek; upper opercle with 2-3 cycloid scales; depth of body about 3.3 in SL (Ref. 90102).
Biology:  Inhabits coastal reefs on mixed algae and coral to about 20 meters depth (Ref. 48637). Minimum depth from Ref. 58018.
