Distribution:  Antarctic Indian Ocean: Prince Edward Islands.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 8-9; Dorsal soft rays (total): 12-15; Anal soft rays: 10-12; Vertebrae: 33-35. Distinguished byhaving a weak arming of the first dorsal fin and the head and by its body proportions and coloration.
