Reported from Taal Lake in 1995 (Ref. 13446), Laguna de Bay (Ref. 80824) and Lake Lanao (Ref. 95183). Collected from Cuyapo, Nueva Ecija as specimen for living fish museum (Ref. 81820). Found in a muddy substrate and shallow water of Lake Manguao (Ref. 50862). Known as the native hito. Usually cooked as 'inihaw'.
