Reported from Cape D'Aguilar (Ref. 33067); Hoi Ha Wan, Sharp Island (Ref. 94637); and Yan Chau Tong (Ref. 129329). Also reported from Tung Ping Chau, at depth range of 0 to 2.95 meters (Ref. 119714). Juveniles were recorded from Ma Shi Chau, Starfish Bay, Three Fathoms Cove, and Lai Chi Chong (Ref. 125536). The species was observed more than 200 occasions during 400 dive surveys on artificial reefs (Ref. 119494). Occasionally caught by recreational anglers using handlines, though rarely sold in local fish markets (Ref. 128523). Also Ref. 125586, 126271.
